(DMI) provides Legal Nurse Consulting Services that focus on proactive individualized strategies that support resolving medical disputes and facilitate return to work by analyzing complex medical issues and working with all parties to expedite case or claim resolution.

DMI Legal Nurse Consulting Services:

  • Attend Defense/Independent Medical Exams (DME/ IME) for Personal Injury Cases pursuant to California Code of Civil Procedures Section 2032.220.
  • Review medical records to include Chronological Summaries and Analysis that identify medical issues related to current treatment, apportionment related to past medical issues, and future medical care.
  • Identify Standards of Care, conduct research and summarize medical literature to assist both Applicant/Plaintiff and Defense Attorneys/Claims with their litigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with both Applicant/Plaintiff and Defense Attorneys/Claims to provide information and education regarding medical facts and issues relevant to a claim or case.
  • Provide Medical Case Management Services to coordinate an injured worker’s health care services from the onset of illness/injury to safe return-to-work or optimal alternative.
  • Attend Primary Treating Physician Exams for Workers’ Compensation Cases to facilitate provider treatment plan recommendations to support injured worker recovery and return-to-work.
  • Meet with Primary Treating Physicians in litigated workers’ compensation cases to facilitate the treatment plan, whether by PTP, QME or AME recommendations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all parties (injured workers, medical providers, Legal, Claims, employers, labor relations, etc.) to facilitate achieving optimal outcomes.
  • Provide Ombudsman services in carve-outs.
