Disability Management Insights, Inc. (DMI) is a unique Northern California legal nurse consulting practice specializing in the areas of disability management, workers’ compensation, medical case management, and California Labor Code §3201.5 and §3201.7, alternative dispute resolution. DMI, established in 1996 and later incorporated in 2008, blends more than 30 years of nursing experience in medical case management, occupational health, employee health, and return-to-work with years of insight and innovative thinking. We focus on individualized solutions that support medical dispute resolution and facilitate recovery and return-to-work for injured workers and continued productivity for employers.

DMI President Linda J. Stutzman is a Legal Nurse Consultant, Board Certified Occupational Health Nurse/Case Manager, and Certified Professional in Disability Management. Since 1996, Linda served as Ombudsman, a third party neutral, for the completed Los Vaqueros Dam and Reservoir Project under Labor Code §3201.5, Alternative Dispute Resolution in workers’ compensation for the construction industry.

both published in California Workers’
Compensation Enquirer. As a liaison between
the legal and the healthcare communities, Linda
draws from her carve-out experience and consults
in both plaintiff and defense capacities in collaboration
with attorneys, insurance companies, physicians,
government offices, risk management departments,
clients and others involved in the medical-legal
process. |
Prior to establishing her consulting practice, Linda developed, implemented and managed Employee Occupational Health and Internal Industrial Case Management Program models in the hospital industry. These programs focused on mutually beneficial outcomes between employees and employers. With over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse, small business owner and manager, she has spent the last 15 years specializing in disability management, workers’ compensation, occupational health & safety, medical case management and legal nurse consulting.
Linda periodically serves as an advisor to the Department of Industrial Relations’ Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation, and has testified as an expert witness to the California State Senate twice regarding her experience as an Ombudsman. Linda demonstrates an excellent ability to develop collaborative relationships and draw on available resources to achieve client goals. She has also served terms on the Board of Directors of the Northern California Chapter of the Disability Management Employers Coalition and on the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Chapter of Northern California of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants.
